I essentially dupe the transaction from the month before -- well, until
the matching transaction list came along. Now I just type in "Interest"
and last month's transaction pops into place. I just tab over to change
the amounts. It already knows the account involved. If my
reconciliation is off by a few pennies, that is the first thing I
check--did I get the most recent interest posted?
I do reconcile about weekly rather than monthly. I'm always logging
into the bank account to pay something or check what outstanding item
cleared. Makes it relatively easy to catch a missing interest transaction.
