[GNC] Account Total not matching Account Balance

In my book file, GnuCash displays totals on the Accounts page which
match the Balance value for the last transaction shown in the register
of the corresponding Account. In other words, I don't see the problem
which you see.
One thing to confirm is whether or not you have future transactions.
Near the bottom of every register is a blank transaction space. You
enter new transactions in this space. For transactions dated after the
current date, GnuCash can either display them before that blank space,
or after. Try scrolling all the way to the bottom of the register, past
the blank space, and see if there are future transactions.
You can tell GnuCash to display future transactions after the blank
space in the register with a GnuCash Preferences Setting, in section
Register, labelled Layout, with a checkbox labelled "Placement of future
transactions". The tooltip for this setting says,
