In the account registers, the last three columns on the right are in
order Debits, Credit, Balance.

Depending on your selections in the preferences, these may have
different column headings.

If you are comparing them with a bank's records, generally debits in
the banks records will be credits in your books and credits in the
bank's records will be debits in your books. This is because banks
prepare statements from their accounting perspective not yours. Your
bank account is a liability for them while it is an asset for you.
