I think the Description column is designed to grow or shrink as you
change the size of the window. My technique when viewing a new register
is this:

1. If any of the columns are too narrow and truncating values, I
double-click on the column's title. This auto-sizes the column to fit.

2. Grab the vertical bar on the right side of the Description (the mouse
icon turns into a double-ended arrow) and drag left until all columns
are visible. When you let go, the column will grow to eliminate any
blank space to the right of the rightmost column.

No matter how wide I make the window the "Description" column just keeps getting wider, and the "Tax" column remains truncated. I've tried dragging the column separator at the right edge of the "Description" column but it won't get any narrower, even though the text is a fraction of its width. I would like to confirm the tax amount is correct before posting. What's the trick?
