[GNC] Possible to Set and Save an Individual Register's Default Style?

One idea would be to have the ability to set preferences, like View,
Columns, maybe even Filters, and then 'apply to all child accounts'.
That way you could set what you want on the top-level account, and it
would cascade.
The Thunderbird/Betterbird e-mail client can do this with its folders
per account. So it is definitely doable, just not sure how simple or
difficult.

Where are they stored? What happens when a user has changed individual registers and then attempts to make an account type default? Who decides what the 'normal' register type is for different account types? And so on.
