Not a Turbo Tax replacement, but Open Tax Solver is available and is what I
use. https://opentaxsolver.sourceforge.net/ It there is a *web-based*
incarnation of Turbo Tax, that might work under Linux (in a Web Browser -- FF
or Chromium, etc.).
Note: OTS is not a tax filing tool, just computes and fills out most tax
forms. That is, you end up with the forms, ready to print and file via USPS.
*Some* forms can be filed directly to irs.gov, but some can't -- you either
have to file paper forms (via USPS) or use a *paid* web-based tax filing
service.
The only tax filing software that works under Linux is any *web based* tax
filing service. These are free for *simple* tax filers. Pulling in Schedule
C invokes a demand for a CC to pay...

> Hi Everyone, I figured it out and now have it working on Linux Mint. It was an ABKB (Ahole Behind KeyBoard) problem.àWhen I installed Mint I didnâÂÂt realize that I was using an older version (20.1). This version comes with an olderàGC version. Last night I worked on updating Mint to 21.2. After the Mint update I noticed that GC was now at 4.8. I copied the latest version of .gnucash file from windows to Mint and now it works. Thanks for all of your help, suggestions and understanding.Mint is a little different but, so far, IâÂÂm impressed. And GC is WAY better than Quicken.
