You are talking about a report that gnucash names "General Ledger". I
am talking about how the term "general ledger" is understood in accounting.*
Gnucash calls many of its reports by odd names. Thus the report called
"Income Statement" is not a report just for accounts of type income. It
includes accounts of type expense and usually called "Profit and Loss"
(if the entity is a for profit business) or "Statement of Revenues and
Expenses" (if the entity is not for profit). SAME REPORT. To confuse
further, just as gnucash calls the report "Income Statement" (even
though includes expenses) that not for profit might title the report
"Statement of Revenues" (even though includes expenses).
OTHER gnucash reports also oddly named. Again I suggest those new to
double entry bookkeeping at least glance at some reference (accounting
101 text) so they see what the various commonly used reports LOOK LIKE
and so can recognize what a given gnucash report really is regardless of
report name in gnucash. I've already given you an example of "no single
right name" because depends on type of entity.

* challenge --- you have found a report that shows all transactions in
one account. Can you find a report that shows you all transactions in
all accounts (one account after another) .THAT is what I would call a
"General Ledger Report"
