[GNC] totals for a parent account and all its children

This is also a problem for me.  Placeholder accounts with sub accounts
do not show the total of the sub accounts in reports like balance sheet
and income statement.  If you have an p0laceholder asset account called
bank accounts, and several sub accounts, naturally, the report user will
want to know the total of all the bank accounts.

I use GnuCash for my church's books, and I always get requests from
members for this type of total.

There has to be a way to show these totals, and if not, fixing this is
high on the list of defects to correct.
