Arlene,
You did not mention which computer operating system you were using.
Likely Windows or macOS if your an Intuit escapee. The GnuCash
downloads are available from the website
https://www.gnucash.org/download.phtml.
On many Linux distribution repositories the latest version of GnuCash
is not always available. There are Flatpak versions available (see
under Sandbox on the above page).
The GnuCash wiki has a lot of useful information as well.
