Hi Joe,
i agree with Sherlock, and let me elaborate the phrase "wrong DMG" a little.
Some Macbook Pros have intel CPUs. Some (including all of the more
recent ones) have Apple Silicon CPUs (also known as "M1", "M4", or "ARM").
Which kind of CPU does your MacBook Pro have? The answer lies under the
Apple Menu, the "About this Mac" entry. A dialogue box pops up. If the
line labelled "Chip" reads "Apple" something something, then your
computer has an Apple Silicon CPU. If it reads "intel" something
something, then your computer has an intel CPU.
On the main GnuCash web page, there are separate download links for
"Apple macOS Apple Silicon" and "Apple macOS Intel". Be sure to choose
the correct one for your computer.
Does this answer the question?
Best regards,
