Interesting. I also know that GnuCash scales well, I guess I didn't
realize _how_ well.
My only current issue with that is getting Advanced Portfolio report to
not calculate from the start of accounts but from a given date. Is there
a way to achieve that? If not, I have a feeling (maybe a naive one) that
it won't be too hard to implement, even for me: GnuCash would just need
to calculate the account value at that given state and use that as basis.

Yes, the problem went away for me too.
