Graham - this is a known bug that was flagged about 4 weeks ago from several users. Evidently, it does not affect all windows users, as I was one who had no issue. But many did. Since the identification of the bug, much as transpired and it has been fixed to the best of my knowledge. I believe you need to get one of the new builds. Additionally, fyi, it has been decided that we will wait until the regular release of 5.14 in late December rather than making a 5.13.1 or other update. So if you want to be current, send a message to the list requesting the latest dev build that has this bug corrected. However, if you don't need to be on the current build, version 5.12 and 5.11 should work fine for you until 5.14 comes out next month.

Ken

Subject: [GNC] Upgrade problem on ver 5.13

I have recently upgraded GnuCash to version 5.13 from 5.11 (running on Widows 10) but since the upgrade GnuCash runs very VERY slow to be unusable.

The files I use are very simple, basically glorified cashbooks for 3 small motorcycle clubs. All were working perfectly before the upgrade. In particular one file appears to crash the program when its selected, leaving a half completed update bar on the bottom of the screen. I then have to use Task Manager to kill the program.

I have tried deleting the program and reinstalling but that makes no difference. Is there any transaction repair functionality within GnuCash? I would be grateful for any suggestions how to correct the position as at the moment I can't use the program for any of the accounts.

Thanks
Graham
