Did you say exactly what you are trying to override in AutoComplete? I
apologize if I missed it.

Are you trying to eliminate multiple splits? (For example, I might have
recently bought business supplies as well as groceries at WalDepotMart, so
when I enter "WalDepotMart" into the description the next time, it carries
over the multiple splits from the earlier transaction, which obviously
aren't the same the next time I'm just buying groceries.)

The long-standing "built-in" function for overriding AutoCompleted entries
in a multi-split transaction is

Transaction --> Remove Other Splits

Some folks on this list have indicated they bound that function to a key so
all they have to do is press <ctrl>-M (or whatever) to automatically invoke
that function without taking their hands off the keyboard.

If Remove Other Splits does not do what you need, maybe it would help to
describe more precisely what you are doing, what happens to the new
transaction when it autocompletes, and what you would want to happen
instead.
