[GNC] Any reason reports are not stored in gnucash file ?

I agree completely.  When I said “with the book”, I really meant a general association, not literally in the same file.  A parallel file makes a lot of sense, but perhaps there are other options.

The point is that different books often need different reports, which is really hard to manage when the only option is the union of all reports across all books.
