Hi Ram,  Welcome to the Gnucash list.

remember to use "reply-list" or "reply-all" in your mailer if you reply to 
messages sent from the list so that others can see, learn and help.

MS Excel will quite hapily open a CSV file. Gnucash cannot read/write native 
Excel files, but can import from a CSV which Excel can create.  I've never done 
that, others here have.

and the second query you mention is not clear to me; what is it?
