Hi David, Version: 5.7 Build ID: 5.7+(2024-06-29)Windows: Edition    Windows 11 Home Single Language
Version    24H2
Installed on    ‎18/‎2/‎2025
OS build    26100.6584
Experience    Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.234.0

I don't think it can be account names. It does not matter which account I try to change. I go to 'Edit account' 'Parent account' I change to new location with drop-down list (say, moving to Expenses). It thinks about it for about 15sec and then GNUcrash.

The error you report is normal when GnuCash closes unexpectedly.

I surmise from the error text you provided that you are on Windows. It would help to know a little more: what version of Windows, what version of GnuCash, and what specific steps you were taking when the crash occurred.

Is there something about the names of the accounts that might be relevant? I ask because there have been times when users attempted to rename their accounts with characters that confused the program.
