[GNC] Tab/space bar problem

Since you mentioned stop-light colors, I'll guess you are using a Mac, 
but if Linux, or other OS, please advise.

It sounds like you've got some keyboard or accessibility settings 
conflicts at play.

I don't see the same behavior using MacOS.
