I did. Just in case, I went to subscribe again and I got an email
with this message:

An attempt was made to subscribe your address to the mailing
list gnucash-devel at gnucash.org.  You are already subscribed to
this mailing list.

I believe the first message I sent to the user list had to wait
for moderator approval.
