If you want to differentiate between a deposit and withdrawal at the point of description autofill, one potential workaround would be to use separate descriptions for the deposit versus withdrawal.
For example:
XYZ - Deposit
XYZ - Withdrawal
That won't guarantee that the direction you want is on top, but it will allow you to quickly identify what you need, and then select accordingly.
I have found that it doesn't really matter which direction, as I just correct the autofilled suggested entry to what I need.
To the commentary of "time waster," I cannot speak for your personal situation, your workflow, but what I can say is that many people have reported that the autofill feature is a "time saver." If we took the sum of all the "time saved" and subtracted all the sum of all the "time wasted," I would bet that the total "time saved" is greater, thus the autofill feature is a time saver when averaged over all users.
