[GNC] Recent changes regarding transactions

I am using 5.10 from Debian 13 and I find autocomplete extremely useful
now.  Handy as a pocket on shirt.  The cat's meow.  Etc.

In other words, I ask the developers not to disable it entirely but to
have such be optional for those who don't like it.
