[GNC] Gnucash download insufficient permissions

Are you right-clicking in File Explorer?

That is, you need to be using File Explorer, navigate to your Downloads
folder. (or wherever you saved the installer)

Left click once to select the downloaded .exe installer. (Windows often
does not register a right-click on non-selected items properly)

Then, right-click to get the context menu which should have either or
both of Properties (usually at the very bottom) and 'Run as
administrator' somewhere near the top, but MS is terrible about bouncing
it around the list.

If you have a 'menu' key on your keyboard (to the right of the space
bar) you should be able to tap that once you 'select' the installer with
a left-click first and that should bring up the context menu for the
file. (otherwise, if nothing is selected, you'll get the context menu
for the desktop or window you are viewing)

Note, if you have Windows set to open on single-click rather than
double-click in your mouse/trackpad settings, then you'll need to switch
that back to double-click first. (there may be another way to get that
context menu with single-click turned on, but other than keyboard
navigation, I'm not aware of it personally)

Regards,
Adrien

p.s. - chatbots are at best 'averages' of *maybe* relevant info they
find on the web. Everything folks are advising here is specific as
possible without us sitting at your computer personally. (which is why
screenshots help a bit)
