Deb,
There is no reason not to use an antivirus. You just have to whitelist
GnuCash with it and/or turn if off or disable it while installing
GnuCash.
How to do that varies depending on which antivirus/internet protection
program you are using.A google search for instructions for the specific
software will usually result in the instructions to do so. If you are
using multiple antivirus programs you will need to disable them all
