Yes, the gnucash data file is more important than the exported reports.

BUT -- if you are migrating to a new computer, isn't your gnucash data 
only ONE of the things you are wanting to migrate?  Aren't you wanting 
to migrate ALL of your data? Documents, pictures, etc. etc. Why not 
arrange that all the data you want to migrate is in one directory (file 
folder) and then just migrate THAT.

In other words, migrating gnucash data just a special case of data. If 
you move each sort of data individually you are bound to forget something.
