Mike
I have a simple script to install the dependencies somewhere. I
haven't used it in a long time as they are now pretty stable - except
perhaps on Windows. A number of these have appeared over the years on
the mailing list ( and may even be in the wiki. I have another script
which does the build and install (3 lines) although I have done it so
often over the past 16 years I don't actually use the script any more.
Only very very occasionally do significant problems occur in the new
releases. I can only remember having to revert to the previous version
one or two times over that 16 years and then usually only for a very
short period. The core of GnuCash is solid and most of the changes are
usually around display and formatting issues rather than the core
accounting functionality.
I think most of the Flatpak problems have been sorted now and barring
any chnages to Flatpak itself it shouldn't be a problem. The Flatpak
from the Linux MInt repositories worked well last time I used it.
It makes sense if you are doing production work to hang off for the
initial screams to die down before upgrading.
