[GNC] import multiplying by 100.

I just batch imported a few hundred transactions into a totally new books.  all went well except all the values are multiplied by $10.00 has become $1000.  

I don't see anywhere in preferences 'imports' or anywhere else that i can change that.  And why would I have to?  I have never seen this before and I followed the same procedures as ever....
any clues?
