I suggest you follow the tutorial in the Concepts Guide available at
*https://gnucash.org/docs.phtml. It is worth reading through
particularly Chapter 2, studying the examples and actually setting up
the sample files (gcashdata_xxx) to get a really good hands-on feel for
the structure and mechanics. Once you do that it could make it easier to
pose specific questions. These same "lessons" are available through the
tutorial and concepts in the Help while running Gnucash but viewing and
navigation was easier by downloading the PDF available in the link
provided.*
