I tried V1, no it doesn't work
so i tried V2, and posted a cancelling transaction against "cash" and then 
deleted it.

So now i can reconcile the entry ( i changed the transfer account, that's all) 
but the total owing on the account (credit card) is still out by the exact 
same amount.

This needs some other way of dealing with it, because I wouldn't be able to 
explain to an auditor why this system was a "good thing".
