Columns too narrow/can't adjust

The FAQ suggestion works for me. You grab the right-hand side of the
deposit column and drag it to the right. A scrollbar will appear. Then
you can grab the right side of the description and drag it to the left
until the scrollbar disappears.
What happens when you try this procedure?
