Customized GNUcash 2 currencies

I have dual currencies with primarily us$, and several expense accounts and a bank account in nz$ I should be using trading accounts, but I'm not until I can find the time to understand them. It is working OK for me.
Most of my currency exchanges don't use current daily rates, so I have to enter them.
