Ok. Bin mal gespannt, was  
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=179342 dann an Ergebnissen 
zutage fördert. Bitte pack doch den folgenden Text auch noch zur 
Fehlerbeschreibung hinzu:

Problem A: When running gnucash with LANG=de_DE, all message strings should be 
translated to German. But in fact the HBCI-specific message strings are *not* 
translated (e.g. in the main account hierarchy window the menu item and the 
following window under "Tools"->"HBCI Setup") whereas all other message 
strings are. Please bear in mind that the German translator is absolutely 
sure that a 100% translated de.po ships with *all* recent gnucash versions.

Problem B: When running gnucash with LANG=de_DE the startup shows some error 
messages that are not there with LANG=C. In fact the cause of these error 
messages is the reason that some menu items don't show up at all:

GnomeUI-WARNING **: gnome_app_insert_menus_custom: couldn't find insertion =
point for menus! 
GnomeUI-CRITICAL **: file gnome-app-helper.c: line 640 (install_menuitem_hi=
nt_to_appbar): assertion `uiinfo->widget !=3D NULL' failed.

This error message originates from gnucash's dynamical menu item insertion 
code, particularly the translation lookup of menu items in 
src/gnome-utils/gnc-menu-extensions.c:377 . This means that the original menu 
"_Actions" has been inserted according to a translation that is local to 
gnucash (in de.po: "A_ktionen"), but the lookup uses another translation from 
"gnome-libs" translation domain which is different to gnucash's local 
translation. Probably.
