Much cheaper than Quicken but a bit more work to obtain. Install Gnome
Libs
first, I used 1.2, 1.4 had some probs. After that, obtain and compile

the list is a bit long, but most of it compiles without a hitch and is
more time
consuming than difficult.
Then grab the latest cvs of gnucash, instructions for that are at:
http://www.gnucash.org/en/hacking.phtml
If you have probs, the people on the gnucash list are great and always
willing to put in the time to get it to compile on your system, within
reason of course.
What you'll end up is a great check book program that does quite a bit
more than that. The reports look great.
I'm going to work up a package for the Sparc side of things, would
really
be nice if someone took the time to work on the x86 side.
