Sync with gnome releases

I just figured out part of what you mean in the above.  I think you
misunderstand; all of the RPMs on our site are for gnome 1.4 ... the
parallel set of RPMs are for *guile* 1.4, which isn't a part of Gnome
officially and so its versioning has to be handled orthogonally.

People who installed Ximian Gnome got guile-1.4, but RH6.x and 7.x
come with guile-1.3.x and Gnome 1.4 packages from the Gnome Packaging
Project don't include guile-1.4.  Therefore people like Dave P had
Gnome 1.4 and Guile 1.3.4 installed.  Since nobody wanted to force
people to install Ximian, and Red Hat doesn't really allow multiple
installs of Guile, we have to work with guile-1.3.4 or guile-1.4 
for the time being.
