Yea.  The major problem is that an RPM can depend on, say,
libg-wrap.so.0, but you might have no idea which RPM actually supplies
that library.  Worse, if you have incompatible librarys with the
same SO-number, you lose.

I do wish RPM would get better automation.  I think they are working
on it.
