search dialog complexity

Using the search dialog is tricky... There are several places in a
transaction that you can enter text. These different places (transaction
description and split memo) are seamlessly visible to the user in the
register window. However, they are presented quite separately in the
search box.

Perhaps there needs to be a simple search which will search for the
given text in any of several fields... This may be easier to use than
the current scheme?

I htink that the search dialog needs some general tyding up under the
guise of 'user friendlyness'...
