Those of you that have been looking for a "somewhat practical guide"
to Scheme now have a new option that looks like it's _very_ good.
>From MIT Press, by a list of Scheme luminaries formerly at Rice, it's
called "How To Design Programs" and may be found in webbed form at:

For better or for worse, it's oriented towards DrScheme, which is not
Guile, which is unfortunate from the GnuCash perspective. The flip
side is that DrScheme is a _very_ nice Scheme implementation, WELL
worth trying out if you're experimenting with a view to trying out the
examples in the book.
