odd crashing after cvs update and build

Updated to check out hampton's recent commits fixing several bug reports
I made, and am seeing guile crashes. I don't really have much details,
so am not submitting a bug.
Sequence of steps to reproduce:
open an account
reconcile
double click transaction
(at this point, window has popped open, which btw, still doesn't pop to
the particular transaction - I must still have something dorked)
I can repeat that any number of times (or not)
As soon as I attempt to close the register window that popped up, I get
the crash.
Any suggestions on what to try? I'm running with a relatively current
ximian redhat 7.3.
