Did 'make maintainer-clean', then 'make distclean', then 'cvs update -C', 
re-ran autogen.sh, make and make install, and now gnucash is telling me I'm 
running 1.9.0 cvs.
I guess that worked ;-)

Now why was I dong this?  
Oh yeah, I wanna try that fix to bug #119001
