web page validation

Progress.

The main page (http://www.gnucash.org/) validates as legit 4.01 
transitional, as does the documentation page.  The main page started 
with 149 errors.  Yipes!

There is certainly a lot more to do, but I can only look at so much HTML 
code per day before needing to stop.
