Finding transactions that were entered automatically crashes GnuCash

I'm using the Debian version of GnuCash 1.7.6 (CVS from 2002-12-26).

Found a repeatable segmentation violation. To reproduce:

With the mouse over a transaction, use the context menu to create a
scheduled transaction. Click on the Advanced button and set the Create
Automatically option. Click OK to use the defaults (daily, starting
on the day of the transaction).

Run Actions->Scheduled Transactions->Since Last Run. Dismiss the
dialog that says that one or more transaction were entered
  automatically.

Click on the Find button and search for that transaction. (Yay! Focus
is now set to the description field and Enter submits the search!
Thanks!). Scroll to the top of the Find register and note that the
first transaction has a date of 1969-12-31 and some bogus accounts
  (for example, f3dce4920b7d657943ea29f57).

Click on the first account field. The bogus account name disappears.
Click on the second account field. GnuCash dies with a "Application
"/usr/bin/guile" (process 17543) has crashed due to a fatal error.
  (Segmentation fault)

Here is the output from stderr. No errors were generated from clicking
on the account fields though; the errors below happened before that.
