hidden files?

hi all

i want to ask where config or other setting are recorded in gnucash
is it a hidden file? where it is stored?
(when i delete a file gnucash insist to load it)

how can i run gnucash "clean" as firt time after installing in a new pc?
what files have to remove?
also whats's the use of so many log files.
they keep filling my home dir...
it may be more user friendly to store them in a hidden catalogue.
