Coming at this from a different persepective -- I've been a VAR for
commercial accounting systems for 20+ years....so am very familiar with
the operation from that perspective...

As you describe the Brazilian taxes, the U.S. and most countries are
somewhat similar. Adding to that level of Federal taxation, the
calculations are a major annual undertaking for the Feds, the 50 states,
and several territorial districts. Adding to that is allowances for
employer withheld deductions for voluntary and not so voluntary
garnishments, union dues & funds...

Add to the fact that it's always under the gun, last minute stuff -- tax
authorities are notorious for the 12/15 release of the new tax tables
you have to comply with...
