I think you may just have to give him a paper copy of your file.  The
only export you can do from CG is an XML file.  Unfortunately,
programs like CaseWare (which is what I use), can't import that.  I
know it (CaseWare) can do an ASCII file import, but I have no idea how
hard it is to produce an ASCII file from GC.   I also seem to
remember, but I'm not at work to check, that I could do an import from
exel.  So if it's possible to export to a spreadsheet, then Open
Office could convert it.

If it makes you feel any better, for at least half of our clients, we
end up entering the trial balance into the file prep software by hand.
 For example, importing from QuickBooks is useless because it doesn't
use account numbers.  I'm sure your accountant will charge you more
money for only giving them a paper copy (any excuse to raise the
bill!!), and it is more work to trace transactions, but it's certainly
do-able.
