Maybe the Concepts Guide from a few years ago, but not recently.

Re-read the Concepts Guide, specifically chapters 11-14.

Agreed.

Chapter 11 (depreciation) is supposed to be targetted for businesses, 
but useful for personal use.  The chapter may not have some problems, 
but the intention is to be useful for businesses.

BTW, the "intentions" for the various chapters is laid out in the 
overview section of the Concepts Guide.
