There shouldn't be any voodoo required. The two were designed to co-
exist.

I have compiled the Gcnucash g2 port with no problem on FC4 test 3.
(Might have been FC4 final.) Are you using the gcc3.2 compiler?
Gnucash is known not to compile with gcc4.
