If you can reproduce this, I need much more detailed instructions.

E.g. which fields had you already filled out?  Which field were you in
when you hit escape?  How many splits were in the transaction?  Which
split row were you on, or were you in basic mode?  Had you entered the
txn with autocomplete?  Had you created the account fromt the
register?  etc...

I don't think these are related to the crash.  They seem more related
to reports and help.
