Yeah, I looked at this and it does depend on $(prefix), so
I have no idea what's going on there..

The only files that matter are configure.in, Makefile.am, and the
source files (.h, .c). You can ignore Makefile.in and Makefile..
I'll look into removing the overrides directory.
