Cross-platform GUI

Hello,

this is a plea to drop GTK in favour of a
cross-platform toolkit, namely
http://www.wxwidgets.org/. This is a meta-toolkit that
is compatible with GTK and a range of other GUIs, so
that it is possible to compile the program natively on
platforms other than linux+gnome. The transition would
solve a problem that most gnucash users have, namely
run older versions of this application due to
considerable delays in the update of the gtk libraries
under both Mac OSX and M$ windows.

Please consider this proposal, as it would make a lot
of people happy, and will boost your current pool of
users.
