Another nice self-contained project is a grammar-based expression parser
and editor UI.  The goal would be to simplify/clarify the existing
(recursive descent) expression parser, but also to support expressions
including a function like...

      accountBalanceAsOf(account, asOfDate)

...where the user would want to edit `account` and `date` differently
from how gnucash would want to represent/store the values.  To get a bit
more sophisticated, the function definition might be able to specify
constraints/ranges for the values that the editor would represent.

(For bonus points, once functions can contain these values, the SX
subsystem would want to listen for changes to those accounts, and
interrogate the user for appropriate updates...)
