welcome back.  Did I unknowingly step on your toes somehow?

I am not aware of a paradigm shift.  I also plead guilty to not knowing
about what you are referring to.

I still have not found it on the 20-or-so-pages link you gave.  And to
be honest I don't feel like spending oodles of time to scour all kinds
of rather badly structured pages in the hope to find (and validate as
current) some piece of information that will tell me what I am about to
do is against policy.

My mantra rather goes the opposite way with gnucash.  First, you can't
break it if it ain't fixed and second, this is a VCS, if I break
something, I will quickly try and fix it once being told about the real
problem.  No harm done.

So, please help me understand, what is the *real* problem here? Should I
have not made that commit to trunk but to stable instead?  Should I have
made it to both stable and trunk?  Something else?  Out of curiousity,
I'd appreciate a short indication about the reasons for such policy.

BTW, my mail address works as you already found out and during my waking
hours (!) I often can be caught in IRC as well.  I am rather unsure this
needed discussion on the ml.
