Gnucash doesn't start anymore in Windows

Apparently last night's Win32 daily build still doesn't work.  According
to someone on IRC this morning:

<davidV> warlord: no... todays version installs, but it fails on startup
<davidV> it does not give any error message, but the splash screen
disappears ... and nothing

This is pretty much what C.D. was seeing.
